FOIA Request to Town of Wayne Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

In our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Washington County Times have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Town of Wayne. The request was sent under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., on November 7, 2024.

Our request specifically seeks a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. As an organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such records is crucial for us.

As members of the media engaged in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We continue to await a response from the Town of Wayne and will update our readers as soon as more information becomes available.
