Description

Using LinkedIn as a medium for driving new business leads and contacts will be the focus of discussion at the March 28 meeting of the Home-Based Business Group of the Germantown Chamber of Commerce. The event will be held at Latitude Café in Germantown and will get underway at 6:30 p.m.

Earl D. Smith, Jr., an independent associate with LegalShield, will share his experiences with using LinkedIn as a  medium for recruiting and maintaining new business clients. “I’m not a professional instructor for LinkedIn or any other social media, but I have used LinkedIn as part of a balanced marketing system in conjunction with email, cold calling, networking and walk-in visits to area businesses and want to share my experiences with those who attend. We’re hoping others can add their own thoughts about using social media for finding new business leads.” Those attending are asked to bring laptops so all can better participate in the discussions.

“The Home-Based Business Group is an informal group focused on assisting small businesses build their clientele by assisting each other with ideas and concepts that have worked”, says Lynn Grgich, executive director of the Germantown Chamber of Commerce. “These gatherings are very casual and open to anyone interested in attending, even if they are a more traditional brick-and-mortar business.” She says there are no fees involved to participate. Future programs currently being developed include cyber security and tax issues unique to small and home-based businesses.
