City of Hartford recently issued the following announcement.

Hartford Police just acquired a new Autel Robotics drone. The drone has a thermal imaging capability.

This ability allows the camera to see across a spectrum of thermal levels to detect an individual during the day or night who may be hiding or lost.

HPD recently called in a resource like this when searching for individuals who were discharging firearms in the area Libby’s Lagoon.

The purchase of the new drone was made possible through generous donations. Pictured with the drone is one of our Pilots Officer Cori Whipple.
