2020 was definitely a year for the history books. While handling a viral pandemic of unprecedented consequences to the world, many people in our country woke up to an ongoing pandemic that has produced many victims since its very foundation: systemic racism and a divide amongst the community.
The city of Milwaukee is one of the most segregated cities in the United States and it has been that way for a very long time. Driven by the grief caused by the meaningless loss of many lives, communities all over the country are going to the streets to organize, protest and call for justice, unifying hearts and people from all walks of life.
In 2022, we will continue our efforts toward unity, equality and justice, bringing to Milwaukee the 2nd Annual Together We Stand - CommUNITY Celebration.
This is your opportunity to show your support and start or continue to be a part of the solution.
The 1st Annual Together We Stand Celebration was a very positive event in which many people of all different backgrounds came together and stood together in unity. It was a great opportunity and learning experience for all ages.
The organizers and volunteers will be working hard to provide food, music, performances, speakers, games and a solid infrastructure for the event to happen once again.
