MTCE Manufacturing Career Expo

Description:

The mission of the Manufacturing and Trade Career Expo is to assist in the development of a future workforce by raising student awareness of the companies and opportunities in the local manufacturing and trade industries and the corresponding educational pathways.

This will be the 14th year for this two-day Expo where local students can talk with area businesses to learn more about careers in the manufacturing and trade industries.

Manufacturers

We are currently looking for Manufacturer Vendors to create displays helping students understand what manufacturing is and what a career would entail. Share your passion and get students engaged. We encourage hands-on activities.

Sponsors

We are also in need of Sponsors. May be you are not able to participate as an exhibitor or your business is supported by manufacturing, directly or indirectly. Your sponsorship will help assure the industry has the workforce to thrive and continue to be an important part of our local economy!

Post-Secondary Schools & Other Options

There will be representatives from technical colleges and apprenticeship programs students can talk to regarding the pathway through high school and after to secure one of these careers. We welcome 4-year educational options to exhibit as well. Contact us for more details.

Scholarships

A portion of the proceeds from the MTCE are dedicated to funding education scholarships. We support students seeking post-secondary education toward one of the many careers available in manufacturing and we have seen results. With your partnership we can continue to provide the opportunity to make that happen. So far almost $60,000 has been awarded in scholarships from this event.  (contribution form part of sponsor packet; see above)

Educators

The expo is geared to a high school and undergraduate student. If you would like to bring a group to the expo, please contact Jessica Koepnick, MTCE Administrator, 262-251-2430 or associatedirector@gmfschamber.com   We want to share information to help make the experience a valuable tool in creating student career pathways.

To Attend

High school field trips are welcome and we encourage home school as well as college students to attend on an individual basis. There is no admission fee. Talk to the men and women who are working these jobs and ask what they like or don't like, how they found their job, what do they do every day, etc... Talk to education representatives about what is available after high school. Learn what Employability Skills you will need to secure a job in any field after high school.
