Description:
How was the jailhouse restored? Join Steve Stuckey, former architectural conservator of George Washington’s Mount Vernon home and current executive director of the Tower Heritage Center, as he explores the background behind restoring the iconic jailhouse in the 1889 Courthouse. This exciting session will go into the nuts and bolts of restoring the jailhouse, specifically, the process under which the project happened. The planning and execution was a major feat that required many hands, and this talk will bring to light the efforts into making it a reality. There will be amazing images and drawings related to the project and lots of energy! So don’t miss out! The session will be held in the historic courtroom of The Tower Heritage Center’s wonderful 1889 Courthouse Museum.
