A fatal crash occurred on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 8:38 PM in the Town of Polk, Washington County. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center received reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Highway 175 and Hillside Road. Multiple callers indicated that the motorcyclist was unresponsive and bystanders were attempting life-saving measures.

Responders from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Slinger Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Slinger Fire Department, and Lifestar Ambulance Services arrived at the scene. Emergency personnel took over rescue efforts but pronounced the operator of the motorcycle—a fifty-four-year-old man from the Village of Richfield—dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle involved was evaluated by rescue personnel but did not require hospital transport.

According to Sergeant Alexander Herriges, “Preliminary statements received on scene indicated that the motorcycle was traveling south on Hy 175 and the passenger vehicle stopped facing north on Hillside Rd at the stop sign at Hy 175. The operator of the passenger vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way from the stop sign to the southbound motorcycle and entered the intersection, colliding with the motorcycle.”

The Crash Reconstruction Unit from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded for further investigation. This incident marks Washington County's sixth fatal vehicle crash in 2025.

Highway 175 between Sherman Road and Farmlane Drive was closed for about four hours during investigation and cleanup efforts. Authorities stated that no further information is available as their investigation continues.
